Christina (Christy) Ivler has spent the last twelve years working as a research aerospace engineer for the U.S. Army Aviation Development Directorate. She specializes in drone, rotorcraft, and fixed-wing aircraft flight dynamics, handling qualities, flight control law design, and flight testing. Her research has spanned a wide variety of flight control development programs in the government and industry, applying optimization-based methods to a broad range of rotorcraft ranging from small UAS to heavy lift. She has published over 25 technical papers and is co-author of the book Practical Methods for Aircraft and Rotorcraft Flight Control Design: An Optimization Based Approach. Christy received B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical and aeronautical engineering from UC Davis, and a Ph.D. from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University.
