Oregon National Guard Advances MEDEVAC Capabilities with Vita Inclinata’s Hoist Technology Training
enver, CO – June 18, 2025 — Vita Inclinata, a leading provider of intelligent lifting technology and solutions for aerospace and industrial construction industries, today announced the successful completion of a two-day training with the Oregon Army National Guard, marking a key step in the Guard’s integration of the Vita Rescue System (VRS) into active-duty MEDEVAC operations.
The training, conducted with HH-60M Black Hawk aircraft and involving multiple crew chiefs, combined classroom instruction with live hoist evolutions up to 200 feet. The VIP event also served as a high-level demonstration for key stakeholders, with senior leadership from the Oregon Army National Guard and PD MEDEVAC in attendance. Representatives from the Oregon Governor’s Office, the local mayor’s office, and local media were also present. It represents the latest in a series of coordinated efforts by U.S. military units to modernize rotary-wing rescue capabilities using Vita’s precision stabilization technology.
“The Oregon National Guard’s leadership in deploying advanced rescue systems reinforces what we’re seeing across the services—a shift toward equipment that directly improves mission outcomes and crew survivability,” said Derek Sikora, Chief Technology Officer of Vita Inclinata. “This is more than training; it’s an integration movement we see happening nationwide.”
The VRS, already fielded by select U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard units, uses precision stabilization technology to mitigate uncontrolled spin, sway, and pendulum motion during helicopter hoist operations, which is especially critical in complex rescue scenarios. With no reliance on taglines or manual correction, the VRS enables faster, safer extractions in the most demanding conditions.
Observers noted the VRS's smooth performance and precise control during extractions. One senior official in attendance remarked, “It’s so good it looks fake,” underscoring just how dramatically the system departs from traditional hoist behavior under rotor wash.
This milestone with the Oregon National Guard reflects growing momentum for Vita’s technology as the Department of Defense prioritizes the modernization of medical evacuation and search and rescue capabilities under contested and degraded conditions.
