Vita Inclinata Demonstrates Vita Rescue System (VRS) To The Colombian Air Force At Red Flag 2022
This month, the Colombian Air Force requested that Vita Inclinata demonstrate the Vita Rescue System (VRS) at Red Flag Rescue 2022, Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, AZ . Red Flag is a two-week advanced aerial combat training exercise held several times a year by the United States Air Force. The event offers realistic air-combat training for military pilots and other flight crew members from the United States and allied countries.
While attending the event, the Colombian Air Force requested a VRS demonstration while they were participating in Red Flag Rescue. The Vita Rescue System is a helicopter hoist stabilization technology developed through the AFWERX SBIR process. The advanced rescue technology uses high-speed ducted fans, solid-state sensors, and algorithms to counteract dangerous basket spinning or pendulum movement during rescue hoisting operations.
During the demonstration, the Columbian Air Force was able to interact with and test the system in a hangar under the guidance of Carl Riedlin, VP of Government Programs at Vita Inclinata and retired Coast Guard search and rescue pilot.
“We’ve been partnered with AFSOUTH and they’ve been using our Vita Rescue System as a means of being able to introduce leading-edge technology to their South American partners,” says Carl. “I was extremely impressed by their air crews, the questions they asked, and their quick grasp of how to use the VRS.”
Vita Inclinata is experiencing an increase in VRS demonstration requests. In addition to the Colombian Air Force, the company has received expressed interest from the U.S. Air National Guard, Brazilian Air Force, Portuguese Air Force, South Carolina Army National Guard, UAE SAR, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
